NRR: Lowering taxes is macroeconomically inappropriate at this time

(ČIA) According to the National Budget Council (NRR), the quality of the budget process in 2020 was significantly impaired by non-compliance with the basic principles, especially the principle of completeness and reality of budget documentation. The reason is, among other things, that at the same time as discussing the draft state budget for 2021 with a planned deficit of CZK 320 billion, a tax adjustment was approved in the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic. In this context, the NRR calls for the role of long-established rules in the budgetary process not to be underestimated. The NRR itself considers the tax reduction itself to be macroeconomically inappropriate.
