(CIANEWS) - The National Cyber and Information Security Bureau (NÚKIB) has issued a warning against a cybersecurity threat involving the installation and use of the TikTok application on devices accessing critical information and communication infrastructure systems, essential service systems and major information systems. Concerns about potential threats arise from the amount and manner in which user data is collected and handled, and not least the legal and political environment in the People's Republic of China, to which ByteDance is subjected. The company developed and operates the TikTok social platform. The warning is effective for obliged persons under the Cybersecurity Act from the moment it is posted on NÚKIB's official notice board.
