P. Fiala: CR could get rid of Russian fuel in 5 years

(ČIA) UPDATE - Dependence on fossil fuels from Russia is one of the biggest security risks for the Czech Republic, says Prime Minister Petr Fiala (ODS). This does not concern only petrol and diesel, but also gas. The PM said after the tripartite meeting on April 12, 2022, that the goal is to completely break out of the Russian energy loop within the next five years. He identified further expansion of nuclear power, stronger support for renewables and replacing gas supplies from Russia, including through developments in liquefied natural gas and other technologies, as essential.
