(CIANEWS) - Prague Airport reported an operating profit (EBITDA) of CZK 2.2bn for 2022. In 2021, it was CZK 190m. The net profit reached CZK 283m, while the year before last the company ended up with a loss of almost a billion, mainly due to the effects of the pandemic. The economic results were positively influenced by a noticeable increase in handled passengers to 10.7 million (2021: 4.4 million). In 2023, it expects to exceed the 13 million mark. Chairman of the board Jiří Pos said that the airport implemented investment projects worth over CZK 1.1bn. The biggest ones were the total reconstruction of Terminal 3, the taxiways and the replacement of spare resources for the main runway. The airport was connected by a direct line with 147 destinations thanks to the offer of 58 carriers.
