Prague Airport continues parallel runway preparations

(CIANEWS) - Václav Havel Airport Prague continues further preparatory work on the parallel runway project. The Supreme Administrative Court (NSS) has upheld the airport's cassation complaint and overturned the decision of the Regional Court in Prague regarding the Central Bohemian Region's Planning Development Principles. Board of directors chairman Jiří Pos said that the long-term development projects include mainly the expansion of Terminal 2 and the modification of the runway system. Thanks to this, the airport will be able to increase its operational capacity. The development of the airport will benefit the GDP of the Czech Republic and tourism. There will also be an increase in investment and business opportunities, and new jobs will be created in the thousands. The plans for development and expansion are in line with the principles of sustainable development, including in the framework of the Europe-wide Destination 2050 initiative.
