(CIANEWS) - The winner of Nokian Tires' innovative challenge looking for sustainable solutions was rubber from the remnants of birch bark from the Swedish company Reselo. The material is obtained from waste from pulp, paper and plywood manufacturers. In Finland and Sweden, forestry will produce enough raw material for Reselo to produce 200,000 tons of unique rubber. Reselo received a cash prize for the win and will be able to cooperate with Nokian Tires in the commercial area and in development. 50 projects from 18 countries applied for the competition.
