(ČIA) The Senate's Standing Commission on the Constitution of the Czech Republic has not recommended the delegation of President Miloš Zeman's powers to other constitutional officials. Commission chairman Zdeněk Hraba (STAN) said it was important that M. Zeman, in his current state of health, can at least exercise the essential powers of the president, i.e. appoint the prime minister and ministers and accept the resignation of the government. Commission vice-chair Michael Canov (SLK) added that if the president's condition does not deteriorate, the plenary will not meet for the commission and thus Article 66 will not be applied.
