(ČIA) Senators have rejected a government proposal that landlords should not expel non-paying tenants by the end of July 2020 and voted for an amendment, according to which the state should guarantee 80% of rent. The Senate supported an amendment of the Consumer Credit Act, which sets a threshold for maximal sanctions caused by delayed instalments by self-employed people. The Senate also approved an amendment of the Act on the Czech National Bank, which temporarily eases limitation in trades on the free market. Senators also approved the possibility to postpone the payment of loans and mortgages concluded before March 26, 2020 for a period of up to six months.
