(CIANEWS) - As part of the modernisation of the line between Lanžhot and the border with Slovakia, Skanska built a new track and bridges over local watercourses in 2022. The Railway Administration started the project in February, the work is being carried out by Elektrizace železnic Praha in cooperation with Skanska for CZK 595.7m. The project is co-financed by the European Union from the Connecting Europe Facility. The optimisation of the section should bring faster and safer traffic on the corridor line. Despite delays in the modernisation of the downstream section in Slovakia, implemented by the local infrastructure manager ŽSR, the construction will continue as planned in 2023.
