Skanska to become carbon-neutral by 2050

All aspects of the corporation’s operation, including production of materials, transport, construction, operation and demolition of buildings should be emission-free. Skanska manager Henrik Davidsson presented the vision at the international conference of Environmentally Friendly Buildings − Visions and Trends in Construction Industry 2030-2050, which was held in Prague’s Clarion hotel in mid-November. Skanska is well-known for its innovations and responsible approach to the environment. Adopting the same attitude, the Czech subsidiary of Skanska buys electric power exclusively from renewable sources from a certified supplier, the Amper Market company. With the estimated annual power consumption of more than 12 GWh, the company’s CO2 emissions are 7,000 tons lower compared to the use of conventional sources. Skanska is set to buy green energy in Slovakia in 2019, followed by Hungary and Romania. - Ihned.cz -
