The Škoda Transportation Group has floated a new subsidiary, Škoda Digital. The company with more than 70 employees was formed through the merger of Lokel and a part of the technical section of the Plzeň-based Škoda. By doing so, Škoda Transportation strengthens its know-how and competence in the field of digitization and also increases the technical capacity for new projects. The chairman of the board of directors and president of the Škoda Transportation Group Petr Brzezina stated that the purpose of the new company is to ensure the independence of the Škoda Transportation Group in the development, production and service of the Train Control & Management System (TCMS) and diagnostic and multimedia systems. In connection with this, a new independent development center for digitization and SMART technology for the Group's products has also been created.
