Škoda Vagonka, a member of the Škoda Transportation Group, has won a public tender for the supply of 32 new electric train units to Latvia. The total contractual price is EUR 241.89m. The transaction also includes equipment needed for train maintenance, spare parts and employee training. The new sets will be supplied between 2020 and 2023. This information was provided by Latvian Railways, adding that lower maintenance and operational costs were the main contribution of the winning bid.
