(ČIA) In connection with higher energy prices, the government needs to adopt additional specific measures beyond the so-called energy package. This statement was made by the Confederation of Industry of the Czech Republic (SP), which proposed lowering the contribution towards supported energy sources and expanding the exception for gas tax exemption at least to high energy performing companies. The Confederation also recommends the government use the European Commission’s Temporary Crisis Framework as much as possible to help companies significantly affected by higher energy prices. According to the Confederation’s survey, this price increase has a negative impact on the business of more than 50% of companies and a fatal one on 16%.
