Swedish government okays sale of Vattenfall mines and power plants to Czech EPH group
EPH welcomed the government’s decision, adding that the transaction is still subject to approval by anti-trust authorities. “The deal is of strategic importance for the company and that it is financially best option,” Swedish Enterprise and Innovation Minister Damberg said. “The value of selling is higher than to keep and continue operating the business.” The consortium of EPH and PPF Investment has already acquired Vattenfall’s Jänschwalde, Welzow-South, Nochten and Reichwalde mines, Jänschwalde, Schwarze Pumpe and Boxberg power stations and one block of the Lippendorf power station.
