Swedish Vattenfall’s nuclear power business to recruit hundreds of employees
the country’s state-owned energy giant Vattenfall has launched a new campaign to attract engineers and other people interested in nuclear technology. The firm says Sweden’s nuclear energy sector is currently creating around 20,000 jobs. “We want to attract, develop and retain staff at the same time as we want to use the campaign to create interest in future career opportunities within an area that is extremely important for Sweden’s electricity supply in the future,” Dag Svensson, Head of HR within Business Area Generation said, adding: “Looking toward the 2040s, nuclear power generation will create a lot of job opportunities in the next few decades.” Last year nuclear power accounted for 40% of Swedish electricity generation, roughly the same as the country’s hydro power plants.
