(ČIA) Scientists from the Institute of Macromolecular Chemistry, Czech Academic of Sciences (ÚMCH), in collaboration with MemBrain, have developed a new type of oxygenator. It differs from commercially offered types by the used separation technology, i.e. a polymer membrane that is capable of enhancing oxygen concentration to 45%. The membrane’s advantage is its ability to intercept viruses, bacteria or pollen and thus to ensure a high cleanliness degree of the enhanced air. The oxygenator could help COVID-19 patients.
