(ČIA) With its decision the European Commission (EC) approved Czech public support program COVID – rent. This was reported by the Office for the Protection of Competition (ÚOHS), according to which funds totaling CZK 5bn can be provided as compensation for entrepreneurs who pay rent for their establishments and could not conduct their activities or had to scale back operations due to government measures tied to the coronavirus crisis. The support will be provided in the form of direct subsidies, up to a value of 50 % of the original rent costs for April, May and June 2020.
