ÚP: Unemployment reaches 3.7%, it is much higher in EU

(CIANEWS) - The Labour Office of the Czech Republic (ÚP) registered a total of 273 478 job seekers as of March 31, 2023, 9030 fewer than in the previous month and 20 605 more than last year. The share of unemployed persons fell by 0.2 pp month-on-month, rose by 0.3 pp year-on-year and stood at 3.7% at the end of March. 97 120 persons from Ukraine with temporary protection were working in the Czech Republic. Internationally, the unemployment rate was the lowest in the EU at 2.6% in February, according to Eurostat data. The EU average is 6.3%.
