(CIANEWS) - The Czech economy could save up to EUR 4.6bn (roughly CZK 110bn) by 2050 by renovating old public buildings. Many of them have inadequate fresh air supply and poorer lighting conditions. This poses health risks as well as increased energy, maintenance and repair costs. Renovations can eliminate the ailments and contribute to the economy by creating new jobs and opportunities for businesses. According to the VELUX Healthy Home Barometer 2022, the biggest savings can be made by renovating schools, where a better climate will also bring improved learning outcomes. The potential savings across Europe (27 EU countries + Switzerland, Norway and the UK) have been estimated by the roof window manufacturer at up to EUR 608bn.
