(CIANEWS) - Volvo Trucks signed a statement of intent to sell 1,000 of electric trucks by 2030 to Holcim, a global provider of construction solutions. The first 130 vehicles will be delivered in 2023 and 2024. Holcim will deploy the vehicles in its operations throughout Europe, for example in France and Germany. Jan Jenisch, CEO of the construction group, said that with the purchase, Holcim is getting closer to its goal of achieving a 30% share of emission-free heavy trucks by 2030 in the entire fleet. By deploying 1,000 e-trucks, it is possible to save up to 50,000 tons of CO2. Since May of this year, Lafarge Cement has been operating in the country as Holcim Česko.
