Zeman vetoed act on public health insurance

(CIANEWS) - President Miloš Zeman returned to the PČR Chamber of Deputies the amendment to the law on premiums for public health insurance. The aim of the measure adopted and included in the original government proposal is primarily to save state budget expenditures for 2022 in the amount of CZK 14bn, which is to be achieved by reducing public health insurance revenues, as a result of freezing the payment for so-called state insured persons to the level of 2021. According to M. Zeman, this is a measure that, in the current unfavorable economic situation, will have a negative impact on the quality and availability of health care.
