Sustainable Business & Circular Economy

The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, adopted by all United Nations Member States in 2015, provides a shared blueprint for peace and prosperity for people and the planet, now and into the future.

The theme of sustainability in general is one of the priority areas for NorCham and its members. We see that governments and society in general are giving increasing importance to the theme of sustainability, and we realise that we cannot leave everything to government; rather, we need to show that business can be the initiator of change and that we can accept our share of responsibility.

It is common knowledge that Scandinavian companies are very proactive in this area. We try to approach the question of businesses’ responsibility at the local level, which is reflected by the success of our member companies in the TOP Responsible Company 2020 poll (in which LEGO took first place). And because there are never enough examples of good practice, we decided to initiate these conferences in order to demonstrate the importance of taking steps towards meeting the sustainable development goals set by the UN.
